Where is the Geographical Center of Ohio?
It's Centerburg; a great village which has the Ohio to Erie Trail from Delaware County meet the Southern Terminus of the Heart of Ohio Trail.
Technically, it’s a spot near Centerburg’s memorial park off State Route 314 north of town.

A small snapshot of the history of Centerburg is provided on the Knox County Parks website.

My personal take; this was my young adult hometown until moving to Columbus and Westerville.
The vibe of a family community has been there for many years. The close distances to Mount Vernon, Sunbury, Johnstown, and Metro Columbus make it a great place to reside.

We start our day at a reborn icon. The Wyandot Golf Course.
Centerburg for years has been known for their nearby golf courses.
With recent new ownership; Wyandot has expanded to a grab and go “grill”, full service bar, golf simulators, and event space.
Check them out off State Route 3 before heading into town.
As you get closer to the village; you’ll see the Ohio to Erie Trail wind into the town.
“The Trojan Trail” connecting the High School/Middle School campus to the trail goes by Hometown Market. It’s the main market and deli for the village.
Hometown Market has many beer and wine tasting, notable Central Ohio food trucks visit and a Sunoco fuel station. It also has one of many carry outs in the area serving party and outdoor needs.
Jan Hendrickson, his family and team have operated this market for many years.

Going back to the Heart of Ohio Trail; it’s been an outdoor destination for people within Knox County and Central Ohio. The southern terminus trailhead is a welcome spot for photographers with its Centerburg selfie sign.

While exploring the small town, many small shops, restaurants and a few coffee shops call Centerburg home.
Trailheads for the Heart of Ohio actually have two in the village. The one adjacent to the village’s old mills is the southern terminus for the Heart of the Ohio Trail. It continues south into Delaware and Franklin counties connecting Sunbury, Westerville and Columbus.
The Memorial Park Trailhead, near the “Big Rock” Geographic Center marker and the new playground is right off State Route 314.
With three C-Store style gas stations, Hometown Market’s fuel area, a NAPA/Hardware store, a quaint yet historic library, and much more; Centerburg offers more than you think.

Throughout the warmer weather months, at Memorial Park; the Heart of Ohio Farmers Marker=t offers many edible delights and hand crafted items from the region.

Also held at the park are two great American festivals.
A Heart of Ohio USA Days Festival; prior to the July 4th weekend in late June.
And the granddaddy of them all in Centerburg, the Old Time Farming Festival.

This festival, held since the mid 1990’s has been a staple of displaying farming and rural history, antique tractors and steam engines, crafts and much more.
Centerburg, being in the heart of it all; is short distances from Mount Vernon, Newark, Delaware and many other places to explore.
As always; Life’s an adventure…get out there and live it!
