People think Detroit is on the rebound.
Ask any “Detroiter” and they will tell you, we've been here all along.
Many people head to the Henry Ford, conventions, concerts and events in the Motor City.
Here's some places people should give a serious consideration for exploring the “D”.
The Detroit Renaissance really started in 2011, however the crown jewel of this is Michigan Central Station.
Ford Motor Company, artisans, craftsmen and iron workers worked on the rebuilding and restoration of the 1913 iconic historical railroad station.
Although the open houses for the summer of 2024 close out Labor Day weekend; there are events already planned in the near future.
Tentative plans for the space including Ford Motor Company’s new IT and research space, offices and much more.
Possible plans for a full service restaurant, a possible hotel space and plausible return of passenger rail service are extremely hopeful.
Nearby Corktown has been a growing neighborhood with great small businesses, coffee shops, and restaurants.

Iconic joints like the Mercury Burger Bar ( founded in 2011) light up Michigan Avenue.
The casual fare, legendary burgers, sandwiches, and shakes are great for the whole family.
Frozen booze slushies, signature drinks and local beer line the bar counter.
The only complaint, one restroom.
But in the older space, most customers roll with it.
Comerica Park, Ford Field and Little Caesars Arena are northeast of the neighborhood and minutes away.
Woodward Avenue also features the newer Q Line streetcar, Wayne State University, the Detroit Institute of Art and many other places to visit.
On the Wayne State area, Cass Avenue features local eateries and the Detroit Carhartt store. Carhartt, the legendary work clothing company started in Detroit at the birth of the American Industrial Revolution.

There are pockets of historical surprises and history in the making.
Historic Fort Wayne was a longtime Army fort along the Detroit River; with ties from the War of 1812 up until training soldiers for the Vietnam War.

Nearby, a fishing spot at Delray Park has a great perspective on the new Gordie Howe International Bridge. It's still currently under construction; but plans to open in the spring of 2025.
Engineering geeks can be in mere feet of the construction zone and finishing touches on the largest cable span bridge in North America.
