That being said, day two in the Music City found us on a paddlewheeler.

What, no General Jackson Showboat?

The legendary Showboat is down for maintenance and only offering lunches and dinners while docked.

However, the Nashville Riverboat Company had us covered. A nearly two hour cruise down a great portion of the Cumberland River awaits you. Narrators give you insight on Music City history; but the history of Nashville as a port city.

They feature regular cruises as well as happy hour and dinner cruises. They are also adding a Western style paddle-wheeler, the Nashville.

They have a full bar and a causal dining cafe on board.

Fort Nashborough is at the top of the bluff from Riverside Park. After you deboard, it's worth a look. This is a recreation of the original settlement, pioneers emcamping in 1780.

My wife is not as big on country music as I am. I grew up on it. But, we both love Johnny Cash. One of our favorite artists, he has impacted all genres of music.

‍

A family friend of the Cash brood; gathered the former artifacts of the House of Cash Museum. He opened the Johnny Cash Museum on 3rd Avenue off Lower Broadway.

It has been rated one of the top music museums many years running since. You can even get a green screen photo of you and the Man in Black himself.

There is just so much to see in Downtown Nashville alone. But, what if you want to see a movie, bowl and play video games?

Play Hooky, literally.

‍

Hooky Entertainment Complex has one of their locations right on the west end of Downtown, off Church Street.

The wife and I watched the Odyssey. Long but great movie. Think the Movie Tavern on steroids. Great service, food and a lounge chair makes this experience well worth.

Again, we are far from done yet.

‍
